31DC2014 Day 23: Inspired by a Movie - Kill Bill

Hello there!
I'm very excited to share today's manicure with you!

My husband and I revisited both Kill Bill movies couple of weeks ago and that's when I decided I'd do this mani for the challenge!
The polishes I used:

I started with 4 coats of INM Amber and 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow on my index finger. When that was dry I freehanded black stripes using Golden Rose Nail Art black striping polish. On my index finger I applied Milv hieroglyph water decals. And I do realize these are chinese not japanese but what can you do haha. Turns out they are japanese so we are cool now!! :)) I added some blood stains using a cocktail straw and Rimmel #323 Riviera Red nail polish. If you are interested in this technique there are tons of video tutorials online, but basically you just dip the straw into polish and then blow in it! And man was that a messy job!... I used sticky tape around my nails to protect them but it still took quite a bit time to clean everything up! I think it was worth it though and this is one of the best manicures I have ever done!

31DC2014 Day 14: Flower - Sunset and Daisies

Hello there!
Had big plans for today's floral nail art but after several nailfails turned to simple daisies manicure.

The polishes I used:

To spice my daisies up a little bit I started with 2 coats of Essie #74 Tart Deco and made a gradient with Essie #27 Watermelon. Tart Deco is a wonderful shade that looks bleached orange in the bottle but leans more towards pink on the nail. Then i added a coat of Sally Hansen XtremeWear #180 Disco Ball because what a manicure would be without a sparkle?! :) Then I made simple daisies with dotting tool and OPI Alpine Snow and INM Out The Door #160 Amber. While the result might be not too original I like how neat and bright it turned out.

31DC2014 Day 03: Yellow - Exotic Fruit Lazy nail art

Hello there! I must admit I have been quite excited for today's yellow nails because I love yellow nail polish! Not sure what is it, but I just dig the look of nails painted yellow, not the colour itself. Now, if you care for nail polish at least half as much as I do, you probably know that yellow polishes tend to be uneasy to apply! I actually got this one from a co-worker, who is not a nail polish addict and she found it impossible to apply so she gave it to me, and this is the only INM polish I own at the moment. I am happy to report, INM #160 Amber has a great formula for a yellow polish. I got away with 3 coats, applied one after another, and got no bubbles whatsoever. It dries quite fast too. The colour has a strong lemon undertone in the bottle, less so on the nail. After the polish was completely dry I used exotic fruits water decals (chinese I believe, got them cheap). I was happy with the result and hated to remove the manicure to make a new one, but this is the downside of the 31DC I guess so I'll have to live with it haha!
