31DC2014 Day 22: Inspired by a Song - Let It Snow

Hello there ladies!
Dont know what is it but lately I have been missing winter. The snow, holidays, presents haha
So today's manicure represents Let It Snow.

That's a bottle of China Glaze There's Snow One Like You I'm holding! Since I saw this polish for the first time on the internet I wanted to buy it really badly! So today when I came across it at the store I went ahead and bought it and the rushed home to do this mani.
Unfortunately it was already dark when I finished so I had to use a lamp for my pictures which didnt to them any good I think, so I appologize for it.
The polishes I used:

I started with a coat of O.P.I. Alpine Snow on my pinky and thumb just so the cuticle line turns out more crisp and accurate. Then I applied two thin coats of There's Snow One Like You. On my ring finger I applied two coats of Dining Al Frisco and on my index and middle two coats of Dance Legend #342.
For snowflakes I used Milv water decals  from 3 different sheets. I sponged on some Fanta-Sea on index and middle, and also some DL #342 pn my ring finger to create icy frosty look. I finished with one coat of quick dry top coat.

I liked how this turned out and especially my new China Glaze polish! It's just as cool as I imagined it and I cannot wait to use it for more winter holiday manicures!

31DC2014 Day 21: Inspired by a Color - Peacock Nails

Hello there ladies!
As soon as I saw today's topic I knew I wanted to make these peacock nails using Variete #435 Burlesque Vert, which is a close Chanel Peridot dupe, but not a complete dupe I think. From the swatches I have seen Chanel looks more gold, but unfortunately I dont own it to compare the two!

And traditionally, the polishes I used:

I started with two coats of Burlesque Vert and 2 coats of Don't Pretzel My Buttons on my accent nail. Then I freehanded the feather on my ring finger and made the peacock tail pattern (kinda?... haha) on my middle finger using a striping brush and a dotting tool. All done :)

31DC2014 Day 20: Water Marble

Hello there girls!
Can't belive I made it this far into 31 Day Challenge! Probably wouldn't have if it wasnt my vacation!
Here are my water marble nails:

I only did water marble as accent because that was already hard enough for me! As I see it there are two good things about thise manicure: clean-up and smooth, well blended gradient :) This might be the best gradient I ever done!
I started with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow and then made gradients and water marbles using Sally Hansen XtremeWear #150 Sun Kissed and China Glaze #80931 Sugar High.

31DC2014 Day 08: Metallic

Hello there!
I dont't have too much to tell you about today's manicure, as it is very simple, but I think it's still pretty and festive!
Here are the polishes I used:
Goldie But Goodie on my thumb, ring, and pinky, Gossip Over Gimlets on my index and middle. Both polishes are foils from fall 2013 Autumn Nights collection. Gossip Over Gimlets is a silver with some golden flakes and Goldie But Goodie is a slightly copper-toned gold. Valzer #2 is a mix of silver shimmer, micro black and silver glitters, small black glitters, small and medium hex holographis glitters in a clear base.

31DC2014 Day 01: Red - French tips

Hello there ladies!
So I decided to participate in Chalkboard Nails 31 day challenge this year  and I'm really excited for it!
Day 1 is red nails. To be honest I'm not a big fan of red nail polishes and I don't own many. So I went with something more or less special for me - a polish that I bought before I became nail polish freak addict, then forgot about it and then found again when I already had over 100 polishes! This is Rimmel #323 Riviera Red. Of course I wanted to add a little twist to it so I made a french tip using China Glaze Charmed, I'm sure. I'm happy with how it turned out considering I used China Glaze's own brush.

NOTD: Skittles with an animal print accent

To create this manicure I used 4 China Glaze shades: #80932 Something Sweet; #81192 Life Is Rosy; #81357 Charmed, I'm Sure; #Gossip Over Gimlets.

Gossip Over Gimlets is a silver foil I've had for a while now, it is special because of golden flecks it has. The other 3 polishes are new purchases and surprisingly none of them turned out the same it looked in the bottle :) Something Sweet was a pastel lilac leaning towards pink in the bottle and turned out baby pink with a strong cold undertone on my nails. Charmed, I'm Sure was pure aubergine and turned out nearly black with vampy red hint, but still looks somewhat aubergine in the bright sunlight. Life Is Rosy turned out the most accurately, was just a little bit more dusty looking in the bottle. So the manicure looks not exatly what I imagined LOL, but I like it anyways!

For accent finger I did 3 coats of Someting Sweet, let it dry and then freehanded leopard pattern using the smallest dotting tool i have and Life is Rosy + Charmed, I'm Sure.
Leopard patter is very easy to freehand, I even managed to do it with my right hand which is not my dominant hand :)
I love the way leopard print looks next to foil/metallic finishes.

You can see in this picture below how much dustier Life Is Rosy looks in the bottle than on my index finger! Something to do with thick glass of China Glaze bottle i guess hahaha.
